PROFILE

I have been working as a research programmer at the Assessment Research Centre, University of Melbourne since 2012 January. I work on software development specifically for the assessment of 21st century skills, including collaborative problem solving. My research includes data mining and management for large scale databases. I have developed ARC online testing system, registration portal system, multiplayer collaborative games and scoring algorithms (engine) to assess the ability of the students, which is being used in schools in Australia and Internationally. I have proficiency in web programming (HTML5, socket programming, Construct2, php/MySQL, game development, database application, java ) and server administration.
I completed PhD (Computer Science) in 2011 at the University of Newcastle, Australia. After completing my doctoral degree I did work from January 2011 to January 2012 being as a Research Fellow at the University of Newcastle, Australia. I was an academic (casual/tutor/lecturer) at the University of Newcastle, from 2007-2010 at CSSE department. I have had teaching experience being as an Assistant Professor and lecturer in Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, from 2000 to 2007.
My PhD thesis title is “Data Management and Query Processing for Semistructured and Structured Databases”.
In 2009, I got the best research paper award from CSSE department at university of Newcastle, Australia.

I have developed the following web application or software (2011-2017), at University of Melbourne
ATC21s System
-
Development of Multiplayer collaborative web games/tasks
-
To assess the ability of the students; which are running throughout the schools in Australia, Finland, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Argentina, Costarica, Hong Kong and USA.
-

-
Auto Scoring Engine: to score and analyze web data (from large scale web dataset)
-
The auto scoring engine based on data retrieval/mining algorithms (almost 500) is used to score the students (web based application) responses from log file.
-

-
Multilevel Registration Portal System
-
is an online based registration system is being used throughout all the schools in Victoria and internatinally. This system creates users, view all the information of the users, allocate the collaborative task to the users, and maintains relationship in- between levels such as (University of Melbourne user, Country level user, School level user, and student level user).
-

-
Report generation system
- Based on the participation of the students on the on-line tasks, this engine generate reports for the students to improve their abilities and skills.

REAP System (Realising the potential of Australia’s high capacity students)
-
-
This project, known as REAP, involves exploration of the trend of students in the upper quartile of student achievement not showing learning gains at the same rate as their peers.
-
Web based Application includes the Student’s performance/report generation based on the different test.
-
-
Documentation Management System
-
To manage all the documentation for auto scoring engine. The developed system enables the researchers to manage data (such as edit data, clean data, modify data, search data, generate new indicator) in efficient and spontaneous way.
-

-
Dynamic Survey Management System (2010-2011, University of Newcastle, ANDS Project)
-
To create any dynamic survey system for defining a survey, and running the survey to be supported of any type of device such as desktop, laptop, iPhone, iPad etc. The system is used to generate the meta data from large scale survey data.
-

-
Administration and development of Cancer Research Project Database a web database system for collorectal cancer research project.
